Crafting with little ones. Hands up who shed a little tear at their first creations or was it the mess? 😂 For us, it's often been the latter, but we've wised up to some great arty products that offer damage limitation. It's never to early to offer up art classes to little ones either, with goodies that can be gifted to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Because we like to help our customers, we've pulled together some ideas to to get started on an exciting arty journey with your mini Monet. And you won't end up with paint splattered up your skirting boards with our picks either… Bonus.

Newborns can be introduced to art from day one and it's great for their sensory development. Even though it takes some time for a baby to figure how to make their eyes focus, it doesn't mean you can't get them prepped for the world of art. Wildfire Teepees graphic play mat provides bold visual stimulation while they sit or lay down. Around the 3 month mark, when they can start to focus a little bit more, The Wee Gallery cards are the ideal thing to get started with. Designed with high contrast playful illustrations, they're great for captivating their minds. Then when they reach the drawing stage, they can use these cards to draw and copy what's on them. Bonus.

Once babies find their feet it's often a bit of a war to get them to stay sitting down to do anything… So embrace it, rather than fight it for art time. The Janod easel is perfect for tots, with a double-sided design that means two kiddos can get stuck in at the same time - bye bye sibling squabbles! If they fancy trying their hand at another medium, paper rolls fit perfectly onto the frame and are ideal for painting or drawing onto. It might get a little messier but it's still not going to be all over your kitchen table and that's a parenting win right there. Still too messy for you liking? Think out of the box and host a bath time art session with the Wee Gallery colour me be bath books. Rest the book on the side of the bath, let your tot paint with the water and watch as the pages reveal hidden colour. Genius!

Kids develop so quickly, art skills included. Before you know it, there will be glitter, stickers and pipe cleaners filling up your pre-schoolers craft boxes - but you can still do art without the mess with this age group too. Got one of those adult colouring in books yourself? Selfie Clothing Co creates colour-in capes for kids, with a similar vibe. The cape acts as the canvas and once the design is done, little ones will adore saving the day with their very own, unique creation. Wee Gallery's lacing cards are an alternative creative activity that can be reused again and again and again, encouraging pre-schoolers to get creative with their coordination skills... and with six animal cards per box, it's a great craft box investment.

Because we are kind, we've put together gift guides for every section of our site, to help you make the right choices when it comes to buying for your little ones and gifts for others too. Hope you enjoy 🎁
